Welcome to the SponsorScope self-assessment tool!
We have developed this tool to help you to assess your strengths and weaknesses, and provide suggestions that can really improve the results you get from your sponsorship program.
The SponsorScope assessment comprises a total of 32 questions and should take no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete. At the conclusion, an assessment of your responses will appear in your browser window. You can choose to print it from the browser or e-mail it to yourself (at any address you nominate).
SponsorScope asks some questions that could be considered commercial-in-confidence. Please be assured that all responses are confidential and there is no way that it could be matched up with any of your identifying characteristics (ie, your newsletter sign-up details). Not even Power Sponsorship or our web partners will be able to identify who you are. We store the answers as part of a large pool of anonymous data solely so that we can provide our members with periodic information on the state of the sponsorship industry. For more information on this, see our Privacy Policy.
The methodology on which the assessment is based has been developed by Kim Skildum-Reid, one of the leading consultants, writers, and speakers on sponsorship today. The methodology parallels the approach documented in her books, The Sponsor’s Toolkit and The Sponsorship Seeker’s Toolkit, both co-authored by Anne-Marie Grey, and Kim's recent treatise on modern sponsorship, "Last Generation Sponsorship".
FOR THE BEST RESULT
In order to get the best result, we make the following recommendations:
- Be as honest as you possibly can with your answers. This is the only way you will be able to get meaningful feedback on your sponsorship program. While you may be able to identify some of the “correct” answers, if they don’t reflect the true state of sponsorship in your company, choosing them will only improve your score; it won’t help you to improve your sponsorship result
- Don’t over-think your answers. If you have to ask seven people whether you have ever built a database from a sponsorship, you haven’t done it often enough to check that box
- Use the assessment and recommendations as a starting place only. Often, we get so involved in the minutia of sponsorship that we don’t take a good look at the big picture. SponsorScope is a great tool to get you reacquainted with that big picture. Deciding how to use the recommendations, if at all, is really up to you and will probably require some additional assessment on your part
