corporate sponsorship haiku

Power Sponsorship may be a high-powered corporate sponsorship resource, but that doesn't mean we can't have some fun! Our fearless and somewhat irreverent leader, Kim Skildum-Reid, has a thing for haikus, so haikus it is!!

Below is a collection of haikus written by Kim and a number of other industry professionals. Check them out, have a chuckle, then why not join in the fun ?

Holiday sponsorship haiku contest

To celebrate the silly season, we're getting a little silly. Submit your best effort(s) at a sponsorship haiku to admin@powersponsorship.com. There are only a couple of rules:

  • All haikus must be themed around corporate sponsorship.
  • All haikus must be written in the classic 5-7-5 syllable format.

The best three, as judged by Kim (and her family full of writers) will receive their choice of a copy of The Sponsorship Seeker's Toolkit 3rd Edition or an advance copy of  The Corporate Sponsorship Toolkit. Woo-hoo! Entry deadline is 1 January 2012.

Sponsorship in all its 17-syllable finery!

Here are some of the fantastic haikus we've collected over the last few years. These are gold!!

Leave no trace of the effort
It takes to be big

“I am not in love”
Is my oft-used response to
Your proffered signage

I love sponsorship
But sometimes hate the sponsors
It's my conundrum

Some sponsors lament
Their return on investment
But they don’t do squat

Shall I call today?
Will they answer and converse?

Your artless sales pitch
Elicits a response like
“Help me understand”

Open wide your eyes
Educate, plan, strategise
Success realised

The sign you offered
Hanging on your outfield wall
Is of no int’rest

Please pick me, us, we
Your money is well spent here
Ask not of value

New property here
Get it while it's hot and fresh
Never mind the dust

Oh sponsors, sponsors
Our market is your market
Our market for thee

Plus, a few from Kim Skildum-Reid...

Cutting the budget
When sponsorship is working
Is never advised

A bad investment
Only shows its face fully
To experience

If you are prepared
To cut a good sponsorship
You will lose money

 No professional
Would believe true measurement
Is impossible

And a couple referencing Kim's less-than-stellar conference experiences. P.S. some people have no sense of humour!

 Only so much time
Shall I go to Chicago?
No, never again

Speakers pay for slots
Spouting ads, not expertise
Highly offensive
